What happened to Eddie’s wife on 911?

Shannon Diaz was killed in a car crash in 9-1-1 Season 2

Shannon tells Eddie in 9-1-1 season 2 that she wants to end their relationship. She gives him a letter for their son and talks about getting a divorce before leaving.

Regretfully, Eddie finds Shannon has hurt herself when he and his team arrive at the scene of an emergency car accident the morning after she departs.

In the second season of 9-1-1, Shannon dies after confessing her love to him and feeling bad about leaving him and their son.

Eddie is devastated by Shannon’s untimely death, and Chimney holds himself responsible for not reaching out to Shannon sooner. Hen, however, consoles him by affirming that it was too late for any of them to save her when they arrived at the accident site.

Since her season 2 death, Shannon has briefly appeared in a season 3 flashback in 9-1-1. After many seasons, she surprisingly shows up again in 9-1-1’s season 7.

The 9-1-1 team breaks down Shannon’s’ shocking return

In season two, Devin Kelley’s character Shannon Diaz met his demise. The celebrity is back as Eddie, played by Ryan Guzman, but they are still in love.

While Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) faced her past trauma in the dispatch center, Thursday’s episode also saw Eddie (Ryan Guzman) feeling like he saw a ghost, the ghost of his wife Shannon (Devin Kelley).

After years apart, Shannon reappeared in Eddie’s life in the penultimate episode of season 2, dying from injuries she had sustained in a car accident.

Kelley reprised her role in the season 7 premiere earlier this year, appearing to viewers as the couple’s son, Christopher (Gavin McHugh), reads a letter his mom wrote him years earlier.

Kelley returns in season 7, episode 7, as Shannon in flashbacks and as a new character: Kim, a woman who works at a store Eddie passes and then revisits.

Eddie drops Christopher off at Buck’s (Oliver Stark) at the end of the episode before leaving on what he claims is a date with his girlfriend Marisol (Edy Ganem), but is dinner with Kim.

Although Tim Minear, the showrunner, had promised some well-known characters for this season, it seems like this is one return that nobody anticipated.
