Tech giant Apple is said to be in the final stages of negotiating a contract with OpenAI to use ChatGPT features on the iPhone, according to people familiar with the matter.
If the plan goes through, ChatGPT features will be implemented in Apple’s upcoming iOS 18 software update, according to a May 11 Bloomberg report. It has been noted that Apple is also in discussions with Alphabet Inc – Google’s parent company – regarding the potential integration of the Gemini chatbot. However, it has been suggested that these discussions are not as advanced as those with Apple.
It is unclear at this point whether users will have the option to disable these features on their devices as part of the new operating system.
