The Terror: Devil in Silver: Cast, Where to Watch, and Everything We Know About the Movie

Originally, The Terror was a 2007 historical fiction horror novel by Dan Simmons, a prolific author with a fascinating and diverse history of literary genres.

The second season came with its own story, independent of any previous works, and the audience did not share the same enthusiasm, although the critical scores on Rotten Tomatoes were generally positive.

Now, season three is on the way, and just like season one, Devil in Silver will be based on another version of the book. This time, the author is Victor Lavallee, who has won the Bram Stoker, Shirley Jackson, and World Fantasy Awards for his work.

Horror films are not known for their Hollywood-style jump scares and expensive computer graphics, but rather for their creepy terror and instinctive fear of the unseen or unknown.

Season 3 seems to continue the theme of evil lurking within a mental institution.

The question is: Can it recapture the carefully crafted “realistic realism meets supernatural mystery” magic of the seasons that came before it?

What will The Terror season 3 be about?

The exact details of AMC’s announcement are being kept under wraps. But that doesn’t mean AMC doesn’t want us to know anything.

Pepper is the main character, and thanks to a series of unfortunate events (which looks like a normal morning here), he ends up in an institution. Unfortunately, New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital is not a happy and safe place for poor Pepper.

The name of the hospital is interesting in itself, and suggests some kind of transformation – Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, for example?

AMC’s scripted presentation also hints at something darker, mirroring the season’s title with the suggestion of the devil himself.

Only a secret mental institution could house doctors with dark secrets, patients with evil and disturbed psyches, and the devil.

AMC’s synopsis conjures up images of fake-looking nurses, smiling a lot, holding scissors in their white hands.

AMC didn’t offer any further details, only suggesting that some of the evil Pepper will experience may come from himself.

Who will be in The Terror: Devil in Silver?

Dan Stevens will play Pepper. Stevens is best known for his roles in 2014’s The Guest, 2017’s The Beast, and Marvel’s Legion, but is perhaps best known for his role as Matthew Crawley on Downton Abbey.

Supporting cast members have also been cast in their places.

I am thrilled to be a part of the series “Horror: The Devil in Silver”. This series is a dark symphony of psychological horror and suspenseful drama, and is set to shake audiences.

-Dan Stevens

Devil in Silver isn’t a huge departure from Steven’s previous work, as his role in Marvel’s Legion also landed him in a mental institution.

Dan seems to enjoy this type of role, though it will undoubtedly be darker than Marvel’s vision.

What is the release date?

Currently, there is no release date other than the claim that it will be released sometime in 2025. The cast was recently announced, and it is likely that the series is still in the writing and pre-production stages.

How many episodes are there in The Terror: Devil in Silver?

The third season of The Terror will consist of six episodes, which is completely different from the ten episodes that were present in the second and first seasons.

However, with costs rising and various streaming platforms making strategic changes, the six-episode season will soon become the norm rather than the exception.

Hopefully, six episodes will be enough to flesh out Victor Lavallee’s vision. If it can capture the dark, haunting atmosphere of Lavallee’s novel, then season three will be a success.

The cast behind The Terror Season 3

Not only does Dan Stevens star, he is also an executive producer alongside Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire), Victor Lavelle (writer), David Zucker, Scott Lambert, Alexandra Milchan, Jaemon Cassady, Karyn Kusama, and Ridley Scott.

Scott Free Productions and Image Productions are the production companies responsible for the third season.

Scott Free Productions has a long and distinguished history of premium film content, dating back to the 1970s when it was known as Scott Free Enterprises.

Recent movies and TV shows have had mixed results. The Man in the High Castle, The Good Wife, and Mercy Street have all been hits, while The Passage, Raised by Wolves, and Napoleon have all flopped.

Emjag Productions has a smaller track record, with The Terror and The Silence season 2 being the most popular on the list.
