Veteran Dancing With the Stars star Artem Chigvintsev is currently behind bars after being arrested on domestic violence charges in Napa, California, TMZ reports today.
The arrest came just three days after Chigvintsev celebrated his wedding anniversary with his wife, Nikki Garcia.
It is not yet known whether Garcia was involved in the incident that led to Chigvintsev’s arrest.
It is worth noting that Garcia posted on Instagram on Wednesday indicating that she was also in Napa.
The couple met in 2019 after working together on DWTS.
Garcia, a retired WWE wrestler and television personality, was Chigvintsev’s celebrity counterpart.
Earlier this week, she paid tribute to Chigvintsev in a post celebrating their wedding anniversary.
Alongside the lyrics to Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling in Love,” Garcia wrote:
“This song is our love story. I will never forget where I was when Jesus asked about Artem.
“I had a conversation with God and with myself. How I felt my emotions so quickly. I felt like everything happened so quickly. And then this song came.”
“At that moment I realized I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be.
In a comment on the post, Chigvintsev referred to Garcia as his “everything.”
“Happy anniversary my love, I can’t see my life without you,” he added.
The couple have a four-year-old son.
Chigvintsev’s bail was set at $25,000, TMZ reported.
We do not have any information on whether the charges are felonies or misdemeanors, or how many charges Chigvintsev has been charged with.
Details are scarce at the moment, and it would be a mistake to assume anything about this situation.
But the lack of any public comment from Garcia has led many to conclude that she was involved in the incident.
