It’s been a very rough few days since the search engine updates were completed and I’m not at all surprised, but after over a week the search results are still very volatile.

There is still a lot of talk in the SEO industry about rankings and traffic. Additionally, third-party tools are still very volatile.

As a reminder, Google’s August 2024 Core Update started on August 15 and was completed 19 days later on September 3. But 27 days after the Core Update began rolling out, and 8 days since Google announced it was finished, the ranking fluctuations are still incredibly high.

Yesterday I saw a 21% increase in revenue compared to the previous Monday. However, my page views dropped by about 2,000, and my clicks went up by about 50. It’s a very strange, non-consistent journey. However, I noticed that the quality of the ads on my main site are much better, so that may be the reason for the 21% increase. Additionally, the study is in full swing, so I expected to see a decent increase in traffic, which I didn’t see. It’s very strange in every way.

Monday saw one of the lowest PVs on a business day ever at 66.66% of my 2024 average so far and -18% compared to the first nine days of September 2023. This doesn’t bode well because historically, traffic for me usually picks up well in the first three weeks before my industry’s second-largest global trade show in Italy.

The UK search engine results pages are absolutely crazy today. Placements are all over the place. It’s another big move by Google, I’m sure.

Yes, since yesterday evening I have noticed some serious fluctuations.

There might be another update announcement coming. God, I hate them.

I know our traffic seems to have dropped a lot since yesterday evening.
